T-Minus 10 Seconds to Launch

8th Grade students completed a short unit in aeronautics and rocket building as their final project for the year. They were placed in teams of 3-4 people and tasked with designing a rocket system (possibly including nozzle, fins, nose cone, parachute and release mechanism) that could stay up in the air as long as possible. The rockets were built primarily out of two liter bottles and propelled by water and air pressure.

Take a look at some of the great pictures of the 8th graders letting loose, getting wet, and learning about Rocketry!
